He was quite successful, and over the course of the next seven years built a large smuggling empire, and was making as much as $250,000 per month. In 1974, he was arrested with 660 pounds of marijuana and sent to jail. While in jail, he hooked up with the Medellin Cartel, and after his release, he began to smuggle cocaine from Colombia. His cocaine smuggling operations made him a multi-millionaire. George was arrested again in 1987. In 1994, he began smuggling marijuana again, but was subsequently caught.
